Well-known photographer Mary Ellen Mark recently passed away this past may at the age of 75. Mark was one of the most important documentary photographers of the last century and has left us with some amazing photographs.
Mark was best known for her powerful documentary projects that captured the human side of her subjects. From her photo essay “Streetwise” showing runaway street children, to her work featured in the pages of the New York Times Magazine, New Yorker, Rolling Stone, and Vanity Fair.
Mark’s work lives on, and so does her cameras. Found today on eBay one such historical camera of hers is available to buy. Mark’s estate is auctioning off her Nikon FM2 + 35mm lens with 50% of the proceeds going to The American Red Cross.
