Share the post "Maptia: The Medium.com For Photographers, Writers, and Adventurers?"
Maptia is a new startup that is similar to Medium.com, in that it is a platform where photographers and adventure writers can self-publish their photography and adventures with exciting to read articles. The Maptia website is beautifully made and is a place goal that allows photographers and writers to publish thoughtful and inspiring stories about new cultures and places around the world.
I came across the “46 Places To Fill You With Wonder in 2016” today that showcases articles from 46 different locations accompanied by great articles from extraordinary photographers like David DuChemin, Gary Arndt, and Steve McCurry.
Maptia is:
Maptia is a global community of creative individuals who love to explore new cultures and new places, who care about the environment, and who believe that thoughtful storytelling can make a tangible, positive impact in the world. Our storytelling tools enable writers, photographers, and non-profits to easily publish and share stories with beautiful magazine-quality layouts.
Maptia is a place to publish only our most thoughtful and inspiring stories, big or small, and from every corner of the world. Stories about the places we call home, stories about the places closest to our hearts, stories about the places we have traveled. Stories about lives utterly different from our own, and stories about the people and places who need our help and support to thrive.
What is Maptia’s Potential?
With some startup capital from TechStars and Start Up Chile, the creators of Maptia team is looking to first create a community before allowing it to be a commercial enterprise.
I have yet to sign up, but I plan on adding an article or two with some photography from my travels. Maptia seems to have great potential to build an archive of amazing photography and article that shares experiences photographing and interacting with new cultures.
If you are looking for a place to showcase your photography give Maptia a look.
